White Oak Young Naturalist Scholarship Application

The White Oak Young Naturalist Fund awards scholarships to mature youth under the age of 18 with a strong interest in nature. This program provides young nature enthusiasts an incredible opportunity to gain knowledge and become a part of Ohio’s naturalist community. These events offer a combination of indoor sessions and field experiences led by some of the most accomplished naturalists today!

The scholarship covers registration fees for the recipient to attend one MWNPS event, which includes all meals, attendance at all programs, and field trips. Lodging is not included. The application process opens in January and continues until full. The number of scholarships available each year depends on proceeds and donated funds. Note: Scholarship recipients must be supervised by an adult attending the event (the scholarship does NOT cover registration for this adult).

The adult who will be attending the event with the young naturalist may assist them in completing this application, but the questions should be answered in the applicant's own words.

Personal Info

The adult accompanying the Young Naturalist will receive an Event Registration Form to register and pay for the event. The scholarship covers all the young attendee’s fees, so they do not need to register separately. Once the adult is registered, we can assign the young naturalist to the same sessions and field trips. Lodging arrangements must be made separately and are not included in the scholarship. Details will be sent to you from our White Oak Scholarship Chair after submitting this scholarship application, depending on the event you have selected.
